On the basis of a corresponding Bachelor's degree, you will be prepared to teach two subjects (one primary school subject and one secondary school subject) and to support children and young people according to their individual circumstances and specific support needs. In addition, you will become familiar with the possibilities of inclusive school development and acquire skills in counselling and facilitating change processes.

In addition, a first vocational qualification degree prepares them for the teaching qualification for two teaching subjects. The degree entitles the holder to access the preparatory service for special schools.

The Master's programme in Special Needs Education is designed for a study period of four semesters and can only be taken up in the winter semester. It is divided into 15 modules and an application-oriented master's thesis.

The prerequisite for admission to the Master's programme is the completion of a relevant Bachelor's degree programme of at least six semesters' duration, comprising 180 credit points, a final grade of 2.5 or better, and proof of
Fields of study from the bachelor's degree programme at the University of Erfurt serve as the basis for an equivalence assessment of applicants from other courses of study. The decision on the equivalence of admission requirements is made by the examination board.

The Language Centre (Sprachenzentrum) offers around 140 language courses per semester in 16 modern and ancient (foreign) languages. It supports you in acquiring and deepening your language skills.
