You can find information about train connections to Erfurt on the Deutsche Bahn AG website. Trains arrive at the main station, which is located in the city centre.
The bus station is also located directly at the station, where various long-distance bus lines start and arrive. Information about connections to and from Erfurt by long-distance bus can be found on the following pages.
The University of Erfurt is easily reached by tram or taxi from the main railway station.
Coming from the west, take the A 4 Frankfurt - Dresden to the Erfurt junction. There you take the A 71 until the exit Erfurt Bindersleben (Airport). Then follow the signs for Erfurt Nord and Universität. Coming from the east, take the A 4 Dresden - Frankfurt to the Erfurt-Ost exit. Then follow the signs first in the direction of "Zentrum", then "Hauptklinikum" and "Universität". If you are using the B 4 or B 7 main roads, also follow the signs for "Zentrum", "Hauptklinikum" and "Universität".
Behind the university campus there is a visitors' car park, where sufficient free parking spaces are available. Please enter "An der Parkharfe" instead of "Nordhäuser Straße 63" into the navigation system.
To get from the train station to the university, take the lines 3 (direction Europaplatz) and 6 (direction Rieth). The main entrance of the university is directly opposite the "Universität" stop.
You can buy your ticket at the ticket machines at the stops or in the EVAG-Center at "Anger".
