Research and Graduate Services

We, the team of the Staff Unit Research and Graduate Services, develop strategies and concepts for the orientation of research, research funding as well as the promotion of young scientists for the University of Erfurt. Together with the university management and the scientists, we work on ideas for research and funding priorities and then translate these into programmes, instruments, measures and events, which we supervise and implement.

We also advise and support scientists at all career levels in the development and submission of research proposals. We also support them in applying for and establishing internally funded structures at the university. Furthermore, we are contacts for early-stage researchers in the area of planning, financing and developing their scientific or non-university careers.

Our tasks

• Consulting in the field of research and project funding, national and international
• Application as well as career advice and support within the framework of planned projects
• Implementation and support of internal funding programmes for research promotion and graduate services
• Supervising of research and doctoral formats of the University of Erfurt
• Advising students interested in a PhD, doctoral candidates and postdocs on how to shape their careers
• Support and guidance in career financing (scholarship system) as well as in interdisciplinary qualification and further education
• Implementation of projects for the professionalization of research, research management and graduate services
• Supervision and support of committees and bodies in the areas of research, research funding and scientific careers
