How can I prepare for the start of my studies?
Welcome to the University of Erfurt! In order for you to be best prepared for your studies, we have created a checklist for your orientation. If you can barely wait, then why not start with the checklist "Before the Student Orientation Days". See you on campus in October!

Inform yourself about semester dates
Read study and examination regulations
Activate e-mail account to use PC pools and Wi-Fi
Activate your university account (universal login for many services)
Validate your student ID card "thoska" (chip card) on campus
Print out your enrolment certificate and submit it to your health insurance company, housing office, etc.

Use personal consultation of the General Student Advisory Service
Read the glossary on the website
If relevant, apply for scholarships or find out about other sources of funding
If relevant, look for a room or flat
If relevant, apply for a hall of residence online
Register your new residence at the Citizens' Registration Office
If relevant, take language tests for the level placement
If needed, submit an online application to the Erfurt public transport company (EVAG) by 20.9. for the additional use of the semester ticket as a Deutschlandticket from 1 October (Background: For an additional payment of 18.75 euros/month, Erfurt students can also use their semester ticket as a Deutschlandticket - Attention: Subscription. Applications must always be submitted by the 10th of the previous month).

Take part in the freshers' parties
The student tutors accompany you at the start of your studies during the Student Orientation Days (STET). They draw up the timetable with you and give you valuable tips from everyday student life. You will get to know your personal tutors during the STET week.
