Your start: Student Orientation Days at the University of Erfurt

New at the university? Information for first-year students at the University of Erfurt

Student Orientation Days for the start of studies in the winter semester from 7 to 10 October 2024

Well prepared for your studies

Starting a degree programme, transferring to another university or moving to another city is a big step that we want to support you with. In the week before classes start, we offer Student Orientation Days (STET). If you are a first-semester student starting your Bachelor's degree, students from the higher semesters, your student tutors, will be there to support you. In addition to preparing you for your studies, you will learn many interesting and exciting things about studying and student life in Erfurt.

Digital teaching: prerequisites, tools and portals

Not only since the Corona pandemic necessitated new teaching formats at universities, digitisation in the field of study and teaching has been on the rise. The possibilities are diverse and the need for information correspondingly high. The University of Erfurt offers the following teaching formats, among others:

  • synchronous teaching & learning: simultaneously, live (e.g. in the virtual learning room)
  • asynchronous teaching & learning: not simultaneously, with flexible time and room arrangements
  • hybrid teaching & learning: a mixture of distance and face-to-face teaching
  • "flipped classroom": knowledge transfer is completely or partially outsourced to an explanatory video. The time with the university lecturer is used for questions, consolidation and practice.

On the page "Digital teaching at the University of Erfurt" you will find an overview of the most important questions (and of course answers) about digital teaching.
