Julia Knop has been Vice President for Study Affairs at the University of Erfurt since October 2024. She substitutes the Vice President for Research and Academic Careers and the Vice President for International Affairs, if they are unavailable. In principle, the Vice President for Study Affairs is responsible for the areas studies and teaching (including digitalization), including the organization of teaching, the accreditation of study programmes, the Deutschlandstipendium, teacher training, university didactics and digital teaching. She is also responsible for the area of diversity. Among others, she chairs the Senate Study Affairs Committee, the IT Committee and the Award Committee for the Deutschlandstipendium.
Short vita
Julia Knop completed her degree in Catholic theology in 2001 and received her doctorate in Catholic Theology from the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 2006. After passing the first state examination (Sek. I/II) for the subjects German and Catholic Religious Education in 2007, she habilitated at the University of Freiburg i. Br. in 2011. After various deputy professorships, she was appointed Professor of Dogmatics at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Erfurt in 2017, where she was Vice Dean for Student Affairs from 2021 to 2024.
