Strong signal for innovative and quality-orientated lecturers

The first seven lecturers at the University of Erfurt have now successfully completed their basic certificate in higher education didactics – an offer as part of the higher education didactics programme aimed at (prospective) lecturers who wish to expand their higher education didactic skills. The programme includes practical workshops in the areas of teaching, leadership, examination and media didactics skills. The further education programme is supplemented by individual counselling, coaching and exchange within the "Good Higher Education Didactics" community of practice.

Graduate Dr Niels Haase is enthusiastic: "Despite my many years of teaching experience, I took away many new technologies and perspectives from the programme. I also found it particularly enriching to talk about teaching not just as a duty, but as a meaningful challenge."

Dr Lea Kallenbach also praises the quality of the programme as an enrichment – "both for my personal development as a teacher and for the promotion of an innovative teaching culture at our university. The successful combination of practical, scientifically based workshops and a wide range of process support programmes has given me valuable impetus to reflect on and further develop my courses in a targeted manner. I am already looking forward to further offers and can warmly recommend the programme to all teachers – it is a real benefit!"

With the basic certificate, which corresponds to the recommendations of the German Society for University Didactics (DGHD), the University of Erfurt is sending a strong signal in favour of innovative and quality-oriented lecturing that will benefit both lecturers and students in the long term.
