Lazarsfeld scholarship 2024 for the "Einfach inklusiv" project group

The "Einfach inklusiv" project group, students of communication science who presented their joint thesis at this year's Project Forum at the University of Erfurt, will be awarded the forsa / Paul Lazarsfeld scholarship of the German Communication Association (DGPuK) in September. It is awarded to outstanding students or graduates of journalism and communication studies for particularly challenging or innovative theses and dissertations in the field of methods and is endowed with 1000 euros each.

The award will be presented at the annual conference of the DGPuK's Methods and Digital Communication section at the University of Hamburg, where the scholarship holders will once again present their theses.

In their study "Einfach inklusiv", Antonia Elvert, Alina Schumann, Johanna Schneider, Gregor Protze, Alina Liermann, Anna Kesper and Kim Zimmermann investigated the extent to which audiovisual journalistic news programmes in so-called "plain language" offer added value for people with and without learning difficulties (see Project Forum brochure).

Professor Patrick Rössler, who supervised the students' work, is delighted: "This well-deserved recognition for a methodologically sophisticated and groundbreaking study once again confirms the special quality of our Bachelor's graduates, who are also very welcome in the Master programmes in our subject."
