In more than 100 lectures and workshops, academics will present and discuss the latest research findings. In addition, renowned guests such as Julia Becker, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the FUNKE Media Group, will give keynote speeches on media innovations, digital transformation, journalistic practices, political communication, intercultural perspectives and media ethics.
"We want a broad dialogue about what media and communication can contribute to a better life and where they are relevant for people," explains Assistant Professor Fabian Prochazka, one of the conference organisers. "That's why we're also opening up some of the academic lectures to the public to give interested members of the public an insight into the work of communication scientists." For example, Lisa Bibner and colleagues from the Technical University of Braunschweig will be talking about how the media report on sustainability on 14 March at 2 pm. Leyla Dogruel from the University of Erfurt will be discussing the question of what local media can do for a (better) local life with colleagues on 15 March at 2 pm. And Maria Löblich and Elisa Pollack from the Free University of Berlin will be discussing the TV series "In aller Freundschaft" on 15 March at 9 am. These and other presentations are open to experts as well as media representatives and interested members of the public and will also provide space for questions and discussions.
