The book Neue Blicke auf das alte Erfurt (Religion and the City: New Views of Old Erfurt) is an invitation to reflect on the reciprocal changes between religion and the city using Erfurt as an example. The focus is on the places and forms of such changes in a city in which built certificates of Jewish history have just been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
During the city walk, the author and religious scholar Professor Jörg Rüpke will take us to selected places in Erfurt that bear particularly vivid witness to the reciprocal relationship between the city's history and the history of religion.
The meeting point for the two-hour tour through Erfurt's city centre is the church of the Augustinian monastery.
