The book Religion and the City: New Views of Old Erfurt is an invitation to reflect on the reciprocal transformation of religion and the city using Erfurt as an example. The focus is on the places and forms of such changes in a city in which built certificates of Jewish history have just been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
At the Augustinian Discourse, the author Professor Jörg Rüpke (Erfurt) will present the book project and join Professor Daria Pezzoli-Olgiati (Munich) and Academy Director Dr Sebastian Kranich on the podium to discuss the relationship between the city and religion in the past and present, which is characterised by both tradition and innovation.
Moderation: Dr Sabine Zubarik
