Project management
The research project serves as a preparation for teaching and research in the field of collections-based history of knowledge and culture. The funding will benefit the initiation and further development of the new M.A. programme in "Collections-Based History of Knowledge and Culture", which the university has been offering since the winter semester 2014/15. The study programme is designed as an interdisciplinary one, particularly with reference to the scientific collections and historical holdings of the University of Erfurt and Gotha as a location for research, knowledge and culture, and enables students to deal with collections in a scientific and practical manner.
In addition to the coordination of the course, workshops on collection-related research are organised; we are also involved in projects for the cataloguing of historical collections (e.g. the Gotha Perthes Collection).
