Online Launch Event: Policy Briefing Paper "Strengthening Stakeholder Engagement in the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive"

On 12 June 2023, 13.00-14.30h the Policy Briefing Paper Launch Event will take place online on WebEx.

The European Parliament's progressive stance on the EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence has paved the way for stronger obligations on businesses to address their impact on human rights and the environment. To highlight this, the Global Justice Clinic at Erfurt University is launching a policy briefing paper that emphasizes the need to enhance stakeholder engagement in corporate sustainability due diligence.

The policy briefing paper, developed in collaboration with the German Institute for Human Rights and the University of Luxembourg, provides research-based arguments for giving a voice to rights-holders in the Global South during the implementation of corporate sustainability due diligence. It also offers recommendations for the upcoming negotiations on the Directive between the European Parliament, Council, and Commission.

The policy briefing paper will be presented at an online launch event on 12 June 2023, from 13:00 to 14:30 (UTC+2). Contributing authors and expert commentators will discuss the paper's main messages and recommendations. The event is open to the public, with no registration required.
