New research network on the educational processes of pupils from different backgrounds

The aim of the network is to understand educational inequalities and thus help to reduce them in the long term. "In this way, we want to make a contribution to educational equality and equal opportunities," explains Helene Zeeb. In particular, the researchers involved want to investigate how other people – such as parents, siblings, peers or teachers – influence pupils' educational processes. To this end, various scientific approaches from psychology, sociology and other fields are combined. At regular meetings, the network members exchange ideas, bring together different research approaches and develop joint projects. Over the next three years, they will also prepare project proposals, conduct studies, draft manuscripts and invite other experts to support the work of the network.
