Complaints management

Conflicts can arise during the course of a degree programme, they are nothing unusual. However, as the University of Erfurt, it is important to us to resolve these as quickly and constructively as possible. It is therefore important that you quickly find the right contact person for your concerns. In case of a conflict, it certainly makes sense to first contact the employees affected by the conflict directly. If this is not possible, there are other contact points that you can contact.

Contact persons for possible conflict situations

If your problem relates to a specific module or course

please first contact:

  1. the person responsible for the module
  2. the person responsible for the field of study or the M programme representative or subject supervisor
  3. the Dean of Studies

If you are of the opinion that an error has been made during the examination or assessment of a module

please contact:

  1. the person responsible for the module
  2. the Bachelor's or Master's examination board

If you do not agree with the behaviour of a particular teacher towards you

please contact:

  1. the person responsible for the field of study or the M programme representative or subject supervisor
  2. Dean of Studies

(This concerns, for example, behaviour in a consultation hour, behaviour as supervisor of a thesis, availability of the teacher, grading of an examination takes too long, etc.)

In cases of sexual harassment, discrimination or violence

please contact

  1. the Faculty Equal Opportunities Officer
  2. the Office for Equal Opportunity and Family Services of the University and the Anti-Discrimination Department of the Student Council
  3. the Diversity Officer for questions regarding longer-term impairments

The student representatives are also there to help you with a wide range of questions, can provide guidance, support or represent your concerns if you are unable to speak to them in person.

If you have any reservations about direct contact or other support needs, you are welcome to contact the employees responsible for Quality Management in Studies and Teaching at your faculty at any time.

If you have the impression that your concern cannot be resolved within the faculty, you can also contact other people resp. Committees at the University of Erfurt (see chart below). However, we recommend that you always contact the contact persons within the faculty first.
