Citizen science platform "Cinema in the GDR" will be officially launched

For the official start of the digital citizen science platform "Cinema in the GDR", the responsible scientists at the University of Erfurt invite you to the "Haus Dacheröden" on Saturday, October 10, from 2 to 6 pm. The entrance is free, admission is from 13.45 o'clock

Cinema

The history of cinema in the GDR has so far been written primarily as a state film policy and production history. However, the personal experiences of GDR cinema vistiors are considered to be almost unexplored, and a historically unique cinema and fan culture threatens to be forgotten over time. The goal of the research project "Cinema in the GDR" is to preserve the knowledge and memories of East German cinema from the perspective of contemporary witnesses. To this end, the project staff developed an interactive platform that is now being made available to the public.

Registrations for the event are accepted until October 8th via the e-mail address kino-ddr@uni-erfurt.de or under the telephone number 0361 / 737 44 92. Against the background of the current Corona situation, however, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 25 persons.
