The compatibility of studies, scientific career and science-supporting work with family responsibilities is playing an increasingly important role at universities. For this reason, the University of Erfurt strongly supports the creation of suitable framework conditions in order to combine private and professional requirements as well as possible. This commitment is reflected in the award of the audit family-friendly university ("audit familiengerechte hochschule"), which the University of Erfurt was the first Thuringian university to be awarded in 2005.
