Introduced: The PhD Students' Representative Council at the University of Erfurt (Story)

In a loose series, we introduce our committees and individual representatives. Today: the doctoral students' representative committee.

And we wanted to know: Since when has there actually been a doctoral student representation at the University of Erfurt?

Sebastian Schmidt has been the speaker of the PhD students' representation since last year. The representation, which has existed at the university since 10/2019, formulates and represents the interests of doctoral students.

That adds up to a few hours of "committee work", because the group is also represented in various committees at the university. But Sebastian Schmidt thinks it's a worthwhile and exciting job. Not least because the doctoral students' representation is a kind of interface between administration, students and mid-level faculty.

For our campus life blog "Ich mag meine uni", we talked to him about the tasks of the interest group and what involvement in the committee means to him personally.
