"Know. Share. Discover": Gotha Research Library invites you to the Night of Libraries

Under the patronage of Elke Büdenbender, the wife of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a nationwide "Night of Libraries" is being organised for the first time this year. The German Library Association (DBV) and its 16 regional associations want to draw attention to the wide range of services offered by libraries. Under the motto "Knowledge. Share. Discover", the Heinrich Heine City Library in Gotha and the Gotha Research Library of the University of Erfurt will also be hosting a colourful programme on 4 April.

The Research Library will be offering a mixture of the tried and tested and the new: guided tours of the historic showrooms at Friedenstein Castle will take place at 6.30 and 7.30 pm. The meeting point is in the Hall of Mirrors. For the first time on this day, there will also be a guided tour especially for children aged between 6 and 12. They can go on a journey of discovery, explore the historic rooms of the library and gain insights into remarkable books that have been specially selected for this event by the employees of the research library. The tour will be accompanied by a reading session at the beginning and an interactive programme item in which the children will be familiarised with the historically diverse materials used in book production and restoration and will also be able to experience them haptically. The children's tour starts at 6.30 pm, meeting point is the entrance to the research library.

Please register for all the above activities by 1 April by e-mail to veranstaltungen.fb@uni-erfurt.de or by telephone on 0361/737-5530.
