How can people actively contribute to a more inclusive society?

Inclusion polarises society and attracts a great deal of attention, particularly in the media. The concept of inclusion often becomes a political issue or a bluewashing tool, with companies presenting an "inclusive" image to the outside world without making any far-reaching structural changes. The specific requirements for individuals who want to participate in inclusion endeavours are often unclear. The inclusion process is then quickly "offloaded" onto institutions and the state. But how can individuals actively contribute to a more inclusive society? Can the "old" virtues of solidarity and humility help to drive inclusion processes forward? How do modern inclusion projects and the supposedly old-fashioned virtue ethic fit together? And what are inclusion, solidarity and humility anyway?

Jette Hollmann, a student at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Erfurt, has thought about these questions and published an article in the blog "Theologie aktuell".
