The background was the currently intense discussion about the attitude of the Roman Catholic Church towards queer sexuality, about the structural and individual discrimination experienced by LGBTIQ people in the church, and about ways of an honest church conversion and renewal in teaching and liturgy. Corresponding reflections have been taking place for some years at the Central Committee of German Catholics, at the Synodal Way, in various dioceses, in the church's marriage, family and life counselling, in congregations and families, and of course in research and teaching in the various subjects of academic theology.
In the blog "Theologie aktuell" of the Faculty of Catholic Theology, Professor Julia Knop looks back on the event. Link to the blog (in German only)
