Further funding for the "Moving children = healthier children" project

The Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture is supporting the project "Moving children = healthier children" ("Bewegte Kinder = Gesündere Kinder", BeKiGeKi for short) at the University of Erfurt for the third time in 2025 with funding totalling around 52,600 euros. A research team led by Dr Florian Bähr from the Department of Sport and Physical Education is evaluating the physical fitness of primary school children in Thuringia and examining both the developments over time and possible influencing factors such as gender-specific physical constitution, geographical and socio-economic factors.

In our research blog "WortMelder" we present the Thuringia-wide project in more detail.
