Commitment Award 2022 - get ready!

For the eleventh time, the Commitment Award Foundation, together with the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt, is honouring exciting social projects with the Commitment Award. The application phase begins on 4 April and ends on 15 May. The award ceremony will take place on 7 July in Erfurt.

The Social Democrat and former German Chancellor Willy Brandt stood for social change, which was reflected in his social and political reforms. He believed politics was worthless if policy makers did not have a specific purpose or target in mind when formulating it.

This idea is followed by the Commitment Award, for which renewed students and alumni of the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy can now apply with their social projects. The award not only offers them the chance to receive start-up capital and broad publicity for their social commitment, it also gives them the opportunity to apply what they have learned at the Brandt School and to launch new social initiatives in Erfurt and around the world.

Each year, a jury of experts selects three winners, who are then awarded prize money of 1000 euros each at the award ceremony in July. The jury not only looks at the likelihood of successful implementation of the projects, but also at their non-profit status and how sustainable they are.

  •  The 2022 application period begins on 4 April and ends on 15 May.
  • The award ceremony will take place on 7 July 2022 in Erfurt.
  • The prize money is 1000 euros in each case.
