lecture by Dr Michael Gerber as part of the "Kreuzganggespräche" (Cloister Talks) 2025

"Hope that moves" – this is the title of this year's Cloister Talks, to which the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Erfurt and the Catholic Forum in Thuringia cordially invite all interested parties to the cloisters of Erfurt Cathedral in April and May. In turbulent times that arouse fears and anxieties, people long for reliability, trust and prospects – in short: for hope. The Cloister Talks 2025 take up this desire and explore the question of how hope moves people. In doing so, they are based on the motto of the Holy Year, "Pilgrims of Hope". To conclude the series, Michael Gerber, Bishop of Fulda and deputy chairman of the German Bishops' Conference, presents his view of hope as a deeply human understanding of the world. Further details can be found in the event flyer.

After all, visitors are invited to discuss the lecture over a glass of wine. Admission is free.
