The forum theatre evening in the Kulturquartier will be moderated by Sophie Kühnlenz (historian, University of Erfurt).

The title of the event series "Handlungsfähigkeit statt Schockstarre. Von der Komplexität der Gegenwart und der Wehrhaftigkeit der Demokratie" ("Ability to act instead of shock paralysis. On the complexity of the present and the resilience of democracy") will be put into practice on this evening: The Forum Theatre is a meeting and exchange platform for people with and without a history of immigration. The format aims to encourage both authors and performers, as well as the audience, to engage with topics such as interculturality, diversity and integration, but also racism, intolerance and segregation. The performances rely on the active participation of the audience to discuss the scenes, intervene and improvise alternative courses of action in the scenes.

The event is part of the Diversity Days of the Thuringian universities (16 May to 7 June).
