Information from the organisers
The retired Viennese pastoral theologian Paul M. Zulehner sees the churches at a turning point, which is also the title of his latest book. Reforms are necessary in order to achieve a form of church that is appropriate to the Gospel. What could such structural reforms look like today? According to Zulehner, we need to say goodbye to a comfortable "priestly church" and move towards a "baptismal vocation church". In this church, all baptised persons are equal in dignity and appointment.
Zulehner will present his theses and the surveys behind them at a guest lecture in Erfurt. The topic is "Turning point. Tasks and opportunities for church structural reform". Theological Research Centre at the University of Erfurt invites you to this event.
