Workshop with Dr Maia George as part of the workshops offered by Competence-oriented personnel development for academics

Contents of the workshop

New technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), are already an integral part of our everyday lives. The rapid development of technologies offers great opportunities, but also raises questions for researchers, among others. How can these innovations influence their day-to-day research and what possibilities do they offer for more efficient work, especially when writing and researching?

To answer these questions, the workshop will provide an overview of the transformative potential of commercial AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) in increasing efficiency in everyday research.

Workshop overview:

  • The role of AI tools in research workflows:
Exploring how Artificial Intelligence can change work processes in research. Practical insights into various AI applications, from self-organisation to text generation, will be provided.
  • Ethical AI in research:
Participate in discussions on ethical issues that remain open when integrating AI into research projects.
  • Hands-on experience:
Interactive exercises provide opportunities to apply AI concepts.
  • Workflow improvement plan:
Develop a plan to integrate the insights and tools gained in the workshop into research projects.
  • Optimisation opportunities:
Identification of opportunities to optimise work processes through the use of AI tools.
