The degree programme "Sport and Physical Education" is being phased out. Students who apply now will be enrolled in the new degree programme "Sport and Physical Education 2021".
Course Details
You want to study Physical Education? In the minor subject in Physical Education, the focus is on human movement and sport. You look at the research and teaching of sport on the humanities, social and natural sciences. In your studies of Physical Education you will deal with movement as well as with the theory and practice of sport and other sports science topics. You will acquire methodical skills and job-related action competences.

Structure of the study programme
The bachelor's degree course at the University of Erfurt comprises a major and a minor subject (two-subject bachelor's degree) as well as the fundamental course of study. It aims to impart specialist content and occupational field orientation as well as interdisciplinary skills. The standard period of study is six semesters.

- Sports Medicine
- Introduction to Sports Science
- Training theory
- Applied Sports Science:
- Basic forms of movement
- Small games
- Gymnastics
- Gymnastics/Rhythmic Dance
- Volleyball, beach volleyball, inline skating, trampoline sports and others
- Floorball, triathlon, and others
Qualification Phase (Second/Third Year)
- Sports theory:
- Motor-pedagogical basics
- Sports lessons
- Applied Sports Science:
- Athletics
- Swimming
Two-Subject-Bachelor
The major and minor subjects differ in terms of the content and scope of the course. In the major subject a Bachelor thesis is written.
