Let's go to the Health Day!

On Thursday, 16 May, the University of Erfurt is holding its 8th Health Day on the campus on Nordhäuser Straße. The event is also the start of the university's programme for the Diversity Days of Thuringia's universities, which are taking place until 7 June under the motto #StimmefürVielfalt. The Health Day will be opened at 8.15 am in lecture hall 2 of the Centre for Communication and Information (KIZ) by Head of Administration Christian Schellhardt. Interested parties are cordially invited to attend the two subsequent lectures, which will address different facets of the topic of "addiction".

The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Professor Sven Jöckel, will talk about "Computers, the internet and smartphones - substance-free addiction or "just" problematic user behaviour?". A second lecture by Marcel van der Wal, Head of the Medical-Psychological Competence Centre of TÜV Thüringen, will be dedicated to the current topic of "Cannabis legalisation and the effects on road traffic". There will also be a panel discussion with Austrian national wheelchair basketball player Hubert Hager, who plays for the RSB Thuringia Bulls and studies at the University of Erfurt.

Until 2 pm, interested parties can obtain information, try out health offers or test alcohol-free cocktails at the information stands of several health insurance companies, the pension insurance organisation, the "World of Temptations Foundation" and the Thuringia Addiction Support Service in the foyer of the KIZ. The Suhl blood donation service will be offering the opportunity to donate blood from 11 am to 3 pm. Students from the educational garden subject area will also be inviting visitors to the educational garden to learn about addiction prevention. Sporting activities are also possible – teqball, table tennis and yoga as well as a "Salsa meets Zumba party" in the replacement sports hall at 6 pm.
