New blog post of the Gotha Research Library: A School of Higher Learning with Broad Appeal. The Gotha Gymnasium and its Supraregional Catchment Area in the Early Modern Period

500 years ago, on December 21, 1524, the Gotha Latin school was founded in the former Augustinian monastery. The Gotha Research Library is commemorating this anniversary with a series of blog posts. They shed light on various aspects of this important educational institution in the early modern period. Since the end of the Second World War, the library has held a substantial collection of historical records of this school. Early modern history of education and the history of knowledge cultures are therefore research areas that the library particularly supports.
