Impressions: Annual Academic Conference of the Max-Weber-Kolleg | 15.01.2024

Neue Kollegiat*innen am Max-Weber-Kolleg

On 15 January 2024, the Max Weber Centre for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies held its annual academic conference in the research building " Weltbeziehungen" on the campus of the University of Erfurt. 
The words of welcome from the President of the University of Erfurt, Prof. Dr. Walter Bauer-Wabnegg, as well as from Dr. Michael Edinger, Head of Division at the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society, and Prof. Dr. Gudrun Krämer, Spokesperson of the Max-Weber-Kolleg's Academic Advisory Board, were accompanied by atmospheric music from the two musicians Alexandra Ismer (piano) and Boyana Antonova (violoncello).
This was followed by the annual report for 2023, presented by Prof. Dr. Hartmut Rosa, the director of the Kolleg, who then officially welcomed the new members of the Kolleg togehter with Prof. Dr. Jörg Rüpke, Co-Director. After the captivating keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Krämer on the topic of "Inventing Traditions: critical notes on critical notions", the annual celebration ended in a relaxed atmosphere with lively discussions.
