"Theology also sometimes tends to proclaim and talk instead of listening to people first"

Under the motto "For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission", Pope Francis invited people to the World Synod in October. Around 360 bishops and Catholic laypeople – including women for the first time – came together in Rome for three and a half weeks. One of them, and the only representative from Germany, is canon law expert Professor Myriam Wijlens from the University of Erfurt. In an interview with "Theologie aktuell", the blog of the Faculty of Catholic Theology, she reports on how this came about and how she experienced the synod.
