"With the certification, the universities are proving that they not only tolerate diversity, but also actively promote it. This is exactly the right strategy, because it goes hand in hand with the opportunity for more openness, creativity and innovative strength. This makes diversity a resource that can be used to successfully master the challenges of the future," explained Thuringia's Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee, whose Ministry for Economis Affairs, Science and Digital Society supported the universities in their efforts.
As part of the audit, the University of Erfurt has developed a diversity strategy. This describes, among other things, objectives, ways of achieving objectives and organisational structures as well as concrete activities, offers and measures that are implemented in order to shape the university as a diversity-sensitive institution.
