The ceremonial opening for the 18th Children's University "All about books" and the 25th Erfurt Children's Book Days will take place on February 24 at 6 p.m. in the ballroom of Erfurt City Hall. The award-winning children's and young adult author Lena Hach will be a guest that evening and will read from her texts. Tickets for this event will be available free of charge at the Peterknecht bookstore (Anger 51) or at the department's secretariat (University of Erfurt, teaching building 2/room 203) starting January 16, 2023.
The lectures and seminars will then take place from February 27 to March 03, 2023 at the University of Erfurt. Students in grades 3 to 5 can expect a daily lecture of about one hour in the lecture hall, held by lecturers from the subject area "Grundlegung Deutsch". Each day is followed by a thematically coordinated 90-minute seminar prepared and conducted by student teachers.
In keeping with the motto "Between Fantasy and Reality," the students are taken into the world of fantastic tales or Greek myths. On the other days, the participants deal intensively with picture stories and comics or well-known and lesser-known fairy tales. A highlight is the final lecture on March 3 with illustrator and author Tobias Krejtschi, who will give the students an insight into the world of illustration and writing.
This year, after the Corona break, around 600 children and their teachers are expected to attend the lectures and seminars at the Children's University on the Erfurt campus. Registrations are possible from January 17 to January 27 via the registration form on the website of the Children's University "All about books" (in German only).
