Panel discussion on peace in Ukraine

On the Day of Repentance and Prayer, 23 November 2022, at 7 p.m., the Protestant Thomas Parish in Erfurt invites you to a discussion on the topic of "Just peace in Ukraine - what can we do? André Brodocz, Professor of Political Theory at the University of Erfurt, will be taking part. He will be speaking on the panel with Friedrich Kramer (Regional Bishop of the Protestant Church in Central Germany) and Katrin Göhring Eckardt (Vice-President of the German Bundestag, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen).

Arms deliveries to Ukraine? "Absolutely not, because peace cannot be brought about by force of arms," says one side. "Yes! Weapons absolutely, in order to stop the breach of international law by Putin's war of aggression as quickly as possible," says the other. These points of view also divide society. What we can do in this situation will be discussed by the participants of the panel discussion in the Thomaskirche Erfurt. The discussion is part of the event "Sehnsucht nach Frieden" (Longing for Peace) which begins at 6 p.m. with an ecumenical service. Admission is free.
