Dr. Katharina Held

Katharina Held studied Philosophy and German Studies at the University of Freiburg from 1995-2001. From 2001 to 2005 she worked as a research assistant at the Universities of Freiburg and Bonn and as a teaching assistant at Harvard University (USA), where she spent a research period from 2003-2004. In 2005, she received her PhD from the University of Bonn, supported by the Studienstiftung. After parental leave, she switched from science to science management and participated in the zwm's course for young science managers. Between 2007-2016, Katharina Held was employed as Scientific Manager at the Universities of Erfurt and Jena, as Scientific Research Coordinator at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and as Head of the Rector's Office at the TU Ilmenau. Between 2016 and 2022 she was Head of the Staff Unit Research and Graduate Services at the University of Erfurt. In April 2022, she moved to the restructured President's Office | Staff Unit University Development and shares the management with Kerstin Amrhein.
