New blog provides insights into the Perthes Collection

As part of the project "Cartographies of Africa and Asia (1800-1945). A Digitisation Project for the Perthes Collection Gotha", the blog "Mapping Africa and Asia" has been launched.

The Perthes Forum in Gotha

'The project is supported by the Forschungskolleg Transkulturelle Studien and the Gotha Research Library. The blog provides important insights into the historical map holdings of the Perthes Collection with a three-part editorial and specialist contributions. Researchers working on the Perthes Collection are offered a forum here to open up critical perspectives on their objects of study and to share the results of their work. At the same time, the blog's deliberate international orientation aims to increase the Perthes Collection's visibility for the global scientific community.
