"Due to the Corona situation, we posted the photos on our instagram page instead of the library. And the presentation to the jury followed by the award ceremony also took place online this time," reports Clara Windhorst from the Romance Studies Student Council. In addition to the jury prize, there was also an audience prize this year, which could be voted for online.
What motivated the student council to make the photo competition possible in spite of everything? "The photo competition is a flagship of the Romance Studies department and is particularly close to our hearts, especially because we are such a small department. We are happy to be able to organise such a competition and wanted to continue it during Corona." Besides, it is perhaps especially nice at this time to see photos from all over the world and to indulge in memories and a little wanderlust.
And these are the winners:
1st prize: Marie Giebler "Un recuerdo como un sueño de otro mundo u otro tiempo" (Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia)
2nd prize: Emilia Stephan "Enjoying freedom" (Amrum, Germany)
3rd prize: Theresa Voß "En bosque encantado" (Tenerife, Spain)
The Audience Award went to Sophia Khatri with her entry "Rêveur".
