Living on Campus

The student residence halls are administrated by the University's Studierendenwerk Thüringen (Student Services Organisation). The application for a spot in one of the residences is online only.
You will receive a confirmation email from the Studierendenwerk once your application has been received. Around six weeks before you move in you will be asked if you are still interested in renting the room. Please do not forget to answer that email!
  
Rent is calculated according to the size and quality of the room. The rent price includes utility costs (heating, water, electricity). Please note that the minimum lease for a room in the student halls of residence is 6 months, i.e. you will have to pay six months' rent even if you are only staying five months. A deposit of € 300 must be paid for all placements in residence halls. For internet access you will be charged a monthly fee of € 10.

We advise you to apply as early as possible!

If you plan to come in winter semester, application for housing is possible as of April 1 of a year. If you plan to come in summer semester, application is possible as of October 1 of a year.

Swap Shop

Swap Shop

You came from abroad and could not bring any household items? Get them from the Swap Shop, a room for given-up but still usuable household items. International students usually cannot bring household items. At the beginning of their stay, international students can make an appointment by e-mail and pick up various pieces from there. Erfurt students and employees of the university can support the project by handing in household items that they no longer need to the International Office. You find the Swap Shop on campus in the building C07 - Lehrgebäude 2 / room 3b (-112) in the basement.
