Information from the organiser

The course is divided into two parts and provides an overview of the current copyright and data protection framework for (digital and hybrid) lecturers. The first part (copyright) deals with the legally compliant use of media in university courses, for example with regard to the use of copyright-protected videos, photographs or diagrams. The second part of the course is dedicated to data protection regulations in the university sector and deals, among other things, with the data protection-compliant implementation of research projects or online examinations. The content of the course is developed with the participants by alternating between technical input and practical case studies. Participants will have ample opportunity to ask practical questions for discussion. No binding legal advice will be given as part of the course.

Professor Achim Förster has been an adjunct lecturer at various universities and colleges (including the University of Bayreuth and the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg) since 2006; holder of the Professorship of Copyright, Media Law and Media Policy at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt since 2015, Chair of an Examination Board from 2015-2020, Data Protection Officer at the university from 2020-2021 and Vice President for Teaching, Studies and Further Education since 2021.
