André Brodocz has been Vice President for Research and Academic Careers at the University of Erfurt since February 2024. He is also the Deputy President. The Vice President for Research and Academic Careers is responsible for research (including digitalization) and research funding, academic careers and the research-related development of the Gotha Campus. Among others, he chairs the Senate Committee for Research and Graduate Services, the Awards and Grant Commission (doctoral/postdoctoral funding through scholarships), the Ethics Advisory Board and the Christoph Martin Wieland Graduate Forum.
Short vita
André Brodocz completed his degree in political science, sociology and Modern German Literature at the Philipps University of Marburg in 1996. He received his doctorate from the TU Dresden in 2001. There he habilitated in 2007 in the subject “Political Science” with his thesis on “The Power of the Judiciary”. André Brodocz has been Professor of Political Theory at the University of Erfurt since 2009. He was Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences from 2011 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2021.
