The interdisciplinary workshop will focus on the methods of oral history and discuss how memory is preserved, forgotten, generated, transformed, reconstructed and interpreted. Questions are:
- How do we remember and why do we forget?
- Which neurobiological processes are activated in the process?
- How do we deal with the memories that people tell us about?
- How can we use these memories for science?
As part of the two-day event, there will be a public evening lecture by Prof. Dr. Sascha Benjamin Fink (Magdeburg) on 12 May at 7.30 pm. It is entitled "Remembering: A Neurophilosophical View". All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.
Both the workshop and the evening lecture will be broadcast from the senate hall of the University of Erfurt via Livestram (WebEx). Registration is possible via e-mail: dut.info@uni-erfurt.de.
