Virtual exhibition: „Karten – Wissen – Meer. Globalisierung vom Wasser aus“

Save the Date: The planned 10th "Gotha Map Weeks" will take place in an unusual format this year: Instead of the analogue exhibition on site, there will now be a virtual exhibition, which the team of the BMBF-funded joint project "Karten Wissen Meer" is currently preparing.

The launch is scheduled for next autumn, with the initial weeks to be predominantly accompanied by a digital programme of events. In summer 2020, the exhibition had already been shown at the Haus der Wissenschaften in Bremen. It was then set up at the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven in November and opened with a digitally accessible accompanying programme. The Gotha version of the exhibition will now be accessible exclusively by digital means and will also serve as a pilot project for possible future exhibitions on the Perthes Collection.
