University of Erfurt and University of Applied Sciences invite you to the digital university information day on 29 May

The University of Erfurt and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt invite you to their joint university information day on Saturday, 29 May. Due to the Corona pandemic, however, it will not take place on campus but, as last year, digitally - at the university from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at the FH Erfurt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The programme of the two Erfurt universities includes virtual tours of the campus and the libraries, but lectures about studying will also be offered online. Lecturers will also hold sample lectures, the student advisory services and student campus specialists of the universities will be on hand to answer questions in a chat as well as in short question-and-answer clips.

Those interested in studying at the university can use the online tool "STUDIMAT" to combine the fields of study they are interested in with just a few clicks and receive all the necessary information on the course of study, admission requirements, study contents as well as tips from graduates who have already successfully completed their studies.

In the "Online Self-Assessment" of the University of Applied Sciences, those interested in a Bachelor's degree can find out whether the course content matches their interests, can test their knowledge in small exercises and find out what tips the students give and what a timetable actually looks like in the end.

The Thuringian Student Services Organisation (Studierendenwerk Thüringen) will also be at the virtual university information day and will provide advice on everything to do with housing and student financing.

"When we offered our joint university information day as a digital format for the first time last year due to Corona, we still thought it would remain a one-off. The pandemic has taught us otherwise and shown that we have to remain flexible in order to reach prospective students who are currently unable to visit us on campus," explains Carmen Voigt, Head of University Communications at the University of Erfurt. "But," adds Luise Reiber, press officer at FH Erfurt, "the 2020 experiment was successful, the info day was a great success. And that's why we're looking forward to welcoming prospective students from all over Germany to our virtual 'open day' again this year - all from the comfort of their sofa."

The universities provide information about the exact programme on their joint university information day website at www.hit-erfurt.de.
