New blog post of the Gotha Research Library on the Occasion of the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Hymnal: Johann Christoph Olearius' Hymn Book Collection and the Beginnings of Hymnology
On the first floor of the east wing of Friedenstein Castle, next to one of the artistically restored ducal chambers with geographical literature, is a simple room of outstanding value. The Gotha Research Library's rich collection of hymn books is kept here. The approximately 3,000 volumes include hymn books of various denominations from the 16th century onwards in the German Empire and beyond.
