Lecture series with Jörg Schönenborn: "How does a society elect in difficult economic times?"

The University of Erfurt, the Thuringian State Parliament and the "Thüringer Allgemeine" are continuing their joint lecture series in the 2024/25 winter semester. The first lecture will take place on Wednesday, 15 January, in lecture hall 2 of the Centre for Communication and Information (KIZ) on the university campus. The guest speaker will be Jörg Schönenborn, ARD election expert, journalist and programme director of WDR. He will provide answers to the question: "How does a society vote in difficult economic times?". The event starts at 6.15 pm. Admission is free.

High inflation, reduced purchasing power how do economic factors affect the mood in the country? In the US election, many people made inflation the most important criterion in their voting decision. In his lecture, Jörg Schönenborn will provide insights into people's expectations of the democratic system and factors that influence voting decisions.

Admission to the event is at 6 pm. Registration is requested.
