Culture flat rate for Erfurt students

With the new cultural semester ticket, students at Erfurt's universities will receive free admission to numerous municipal cultural institutions in Erfurt from the summer semester of 2022. The Erfurt city council, the Erfurt Theatre and the Thuringian Student Services Organisation (Studierendenwerk Thüringen) signed a joint agreement today. The political basis is a city council resolution.

All students at the University of Erfurt and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt pay a contribution of three euros per semester for the culture ticket, which is included in the semester fee. This provides free admission to Erfurt Theatre (except for the Domstufenfestspiele and guest performances) and to the city's art and history museums as well as the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Thuringian Folklore. Students receive a free ticket if they show their student ID (thoska) with the imprint "Semesterticket" at the museum ticket offices, the theatre's visitor service and at the evening ticket offices.
