"Freimaurer ff." at the end

The special exhibition "Freimaurer und Mysterien Ägyptens in Gotha" (Freemasons and Mysteries of Egypt in Gotha) in the Ducal Museum of the Friedenstein Castle Foundation Gotha ends on Sunday, 15 October with the event "Freimaurer ff.". At the end, a short film and a podcast will be presented in addition to the presentation of the scholarly accompanying volume. The event will begin at 2 pm in the Ducal Museum and end around 5 pm. Admission is free.

The topic "Freemasons and Illuminati in Gotha" sheds light on Gotha's development around 1800 into a place of intellectual exchange, thought experimentation, scientific discussion and European thought of the time. The scholarly publication that now accompanies the exhibition "Freimaurer und Mysterien Ägyptens in Gotha" makes a significant contribution to making this subject accessible to both researchers and the general public. At the same time, the Friedenstein Castle Gotha Foundation offers a multimedia introduction to this exciting topic with a short film and a podcast.

On the afternoon of 15 October 2023, the publication, film and podcast will be presented. At 3 pm, the short film "Freimaurer und Illuminaten in Gotha" (Freemasons and Illuminati in Gotha) will be shown. Afterwards, the publication will be presented in a panel discussion with the authors of the catalogue, scientists of the Gotha Research Centre at the University of Erfurt, representatives of the Great National Mother Lodge of the Three Globes (3WK), scientists from the Friedenstein Castle Foundation and Foundation Director Dr Tobias Pfeifer-Helke. Two guided tours with the exhibition curator Uta Wallenstein will take place at 2 pm and 4 pm.
