"Colourful things from the reading box - students read for students"

"Colourful things from the reading box - students read for students" - this was the motto of a digital reading event organised by the Department of Speech Education at the Language Centre of the University of Erfurt and attended by almost 50 participants* on the occasion of the 17th nationwide Reading Day.

Speaking and reading are tools that every primary school teacher needs for his or her German lessons. Against this background, speech training in selected courses offers students the opportunity to work on their reading expression skills by means of speaking and voice style. Today, Katharina Osterhammer, Katharina Krüger, Christin Kunkel and Anabel Böhme, four former students from the reading and text elocution courses, read. The literature selection offered something for every age - e.g. texts by W. Sutejew, C. S. Lewis, C. Strayed and R. Seethaler. There was also a short interview with the readers about their personal reading experiences. Finally, the participants* could take part in a quiz with questions about reading.

Sophie Hohlbein and Dr. Uta Wallraff from the Language Centre of the University of Erfurt were available for questions.
