Kick-off event for the academic year

The Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt invites you to its kick-off event for the new academic year on Thursday, October 29. It will present its publication "Populism and a New Age of International Fragility: Seeking Policy Innovations 40 Years after the Brandt Report" and welcome the new students of the "Master of Public Policy" class 2020-22.

Prof. David Audretsch from Indiana University has agreed to be a guest speaker at this year's Welcome Reception. Following his lecture, the "Brandt School Graduation Prizes" will be awarded for the first time.

The publication, which will be presented on this day, was created in collaboration with alumni and researchers of the Brandt School. It sets out in search of political innovation 40 years after Willy Brandt and his "North-South Commission" published their famous report. The new anthology now deals with topics such as migration, peace and development policy against the background of growing populism. It will be presented by some of its authors and will be discussed during the event.
